Naipunya

To lead a dignified and quality life, stable income and job security is an important aspect. A job will raise the living standard of a person with Muscular Dystrophy and Spinal Muscular Atrophy. MIND Trust believes that physical limitations are not a barrier to training for a better livelihood and practicing that livelihood. Moreover, it brings meaning and purpose to one’s life by enabling financial independence and social freedom. Assisting people suffering from Muscular Dystrophy and Spinal Muscular Atrophy to lead a meaningful life is the foremost goal of MIND Trust and we launched Project Naipunya to achieve that aim of ours. Through Project Naipunya, MIND Trust provides free training programmes ranging from graphic design, and customer service specializing in data analysis and digital marketing to achieving the aim of ‘jobs for everyone’ over the next four years. As a result of these interventions currently 67 MIND beneficiaries are working in Multinational companies like Fragomen, EY, Amazon, Cognizant and Reliance Jio. Training programmes on cake baking, making paper pens, towels, umbrellas and handicrafts, are the activities Naipunya undertakes now. About 14 beneficiaries are earning income from paper pen, umbrella nettipattam cake making etc. Naipunya helps one gain a sense of pride and self-satisfaction by reaffirming that one can support oneself.
