Oppam
The term “Oppam,” meaning “Always with You,” reflects the commitment to stand beside beneficiaries during times of financial difficulty and support them through their challenges. The project symbolizes care, solidarity, and the assurance that individuals are not alone in their journey.
Oppam is a support initiative launched by Mobility in Dystrophy (MIND) Trust to provide consistent monthly financial assistance to individuals in need, particularly beneficiaries living with Muscular Dystrophy (MD) and Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA). The initiative focuses on addressing essential needs and improving the overall quality of life of those who require financial support.
Since 2020, the Oppam Project has been offering regular financial assistance to selected beneficiaries. Through this initiative, a total of ₹4,58,250 has been distributed as financial aid, helping individuals meet essential expenses and maintain a more stable and secure living condition.
Each month, six beneficiaries receive a fixed amount of financial support based on their individual needs. This personalized approach ensures that the assistance provided is meaningful, fair, and responsive to the specific challenges faced by each beneficiary.
Beyond financial aid, the Oppam Project has strengthened the sense of care, compassion, and collective responsibility within the MIND community. By consistently supporting individuals in need, the initiative continues to reinforce the organization’s commitment to dignity, inclusion, and long-term well-being of its beneficiaries.
